About us.

We are a community based amateur orchestra from Forest Row on the edge of the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex. Our members come from both the village itself and many of the surrounding towns and villages.
Our membership is open to everyone who plays at grade 4 standard and above.
What we do.
We are back to rehearsals every Saturday during the school term, 09.00 – 10.30am at the Forest Row Primary School. We still have some COVID protective measures in place to keep us safe.
We play two public concerts each year, one in early spring and the other in the summer. The proceeds from our concert ticket sales are given to charity. The charities we have supported can be found on our charity work page.

Come and see us play.

It’s our pleasure to be playing our Summer Concert on Saturday 4th February 2023 at Forest Row Village Hall, Lewes Road, Forest Row RH18 5ES. The concert will start at 11.00am.
Music to be played will be:
Paisello: Barber of Seville Overture
Foulds: Keltic Lament
Boyce: Suite
Short interval
Cherubini: Symphony in D
Tickets are on the door, £6 for adults, £1 for Children.
All proceeds will go to a local charitable organisation which we will be choosing shortly.
Join us.

We always need new players and welcome anyone who can play to around the grade 4 standard or above.
We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds, including those who are just starting out in music and those who are returning after a break.
We need all departments and would be happy to accept most instruments. We rarely decline any requests to join.
Instruments in particular demand are strings, brass and lower woodwind (we aren’t short of flutes at present).
